Practice on Pause

Well, it's been quite a week, hasn't it? I would love to tell you that I can do all the hand washing and sanitizing to keep you safe when you come in for your next massage. I wish I could promise that massage is just what you need to improve your immunity and get through this stressful time.

But I can't make those promises.

My family has already begun the process of social isolation as a way to protect the most vulnerable in our community. And now that schools have closed through at least April 7th, I am committing to being home with my kids for the duration. I have cancelled all sessions through April 11th, and will be in touch to cancel sessions further into April if the situation requires it.

Please remember that even if you're not worried about getting the coronavirus yourself, there are people you care about who have risk factors that make getting this virus far more dangerous. As a healthcare practitioner, my first responsibility is to do no harm. I can't in good consciousness risk being an asymptomatic carrier and passing the virus on to others.

And please know I cancel these sessions with a heavy heart. This business and serving my clients is an honor. My hands and heart are full with the gift you give me of your presence. I love my job, and it is much more than just a job to me. I am lucky every time I step into the office, to walk on this journey with you. I will miss washing my hands to prepare to walk into your session. But I also believe this is our only and best chance to flatten the curve of illness spread, and protect each other as much as possible.

Please feel free to reach out if you're feeling isolated, concerned about your health or supplies, and I will do what I can to connect you to additional resources.

Stay safe!
